Today in the United States there are more than 1 million restaurants, and they contain 15.6 million workers, that's a lot of jobs. On top of that, the average American eats out at least 5 times a week. In order for restaurants to operate smoothly, they require two silverware rolls, for every, single seat they have. According to the National Restaurants Association, the top two restaurant trends in 2020 are moving to eco-friendly packaging, and going to plant based proteins. These trends are both put in place to help the environment, and that is a common goal for some of our problem solutions.
During this part we looked at and learned about previous patents that solved our problem, as well as existing solutions to our problem that our product would be competing with if it were to go onto the market. We also learned about what potential market it, and why and how you should look at it while finding your problem and your solution to the problem. Because if the majority of the market is taken up and its not a large market, then your solution would most likely fail in the market. I am confident about the ability of our group to design a product that will survive in our market. From prior solutions I learned that we need to think out of the box to create something new because there is already a lot of the same thing.
